MOTEL BROWN ROCKS THE HOUSE FOR JAMES EHLERS FOR VERMONT GOVERNOR
Burlington, VT – In a raucous reunion concert, popular Burlington band from the 1990s Motel Brown raised money and spirits in support of James Ehlers for Vermont Governor. The band performed on Thursday evening, May 10, at Nectar’s alongside Radio Underground, The Mighty Loons and MC Mike Luoma.
James Ehlers said, “Music brings people together, and that’s what we will do with our campaign: Bring people together around a vision for a better Vermont that supports our workers and protects our environment. I’ve always loved Motel Brown and it was honor to have them come out and support us tonight.”
Motel Brown said, “Several of us in Motel Brown are fishermen, and we’ve known James since his days as a guide…There is simply nobody that cares as much about the waters of Vermont as James. When he announced his candidacy, we knew the time was right for the reunion that fans had been clamoring for!”
Bob Bushnell, a member of Motel Brown, said, “As a Naturalist, the environment is Priority One for me, and I know that it is for James, too, and that is exactly why I am proud and happy to support his run for Governor of this great state.”
James Ehlers is a public and environmental health advocate and advisor to US Senator Bernie Sanders on the environment and veterans issues. Since 1999, he has served as Executive Director of Lake Champlain International (LCI), where he has been recognized with numerous awards for his leadership from a number of organizations, from the United States EPA to Green Mountain Power to local community groups.Event organizer Arty Lavigne said, “I am supporting James because of his longtime commitment to our Lake and the environment! He has the vision to get all of us working together for a better life for all Vermonters!”
