Winooski, VT — Democratic Candidate for Governor James Ehlers announced his “Meet me on Main Street” state tour to discuss campaign themes of equality and dignity in every corner of the state. He plans to meet Vermonters where they are, in every county, to hear about the issues that concern them and their families. In each location, Ehlers will learn from residents about the top issues in the area and share his campaign platform for a more fair state that addresses rising income inequality and environmental degradation.
James Ehlers said, “Every Vermonter deserves a life of basic dignity: a clean environment, fair wages, a place to live, paid family leave. As a state, we have moved away from that. Instead of investing in people and our land, we focus on benefits for corporations and the most affluent at the expense of all others. I want to hear firsthand from Vermonters about how government can serve the people, not the other way around. I look forward to meeting many more people on the campaign trail and listening to their needs.”
Initial stops include:
Saturday, June 30, 11:30 a.m. – Burlington Farmers Market, Entrance to City Hall Park at Main Street
Saturday, July 14, 10 a.m. – Montpelier Farmers Market
Later stops will be announced shortly and will include visits to towns across all fourteen counties.
